Police have arrested a man in connection with the shooting of senior a police officer. According to information reaching SouthsideNews around midday, officers received information and as a result, the party of officers proceeded to Factory road extension,Oropoune on arrival further information was received. The information led the officers to a forested area, just east of Factory Road Extension where a search carried out of the area.
The officers surrounded a bamboo patch and found a man of mixed descent, brown-skinned in complexion, sporting a cane row hairstyle who was also barebacked and wearing a black 3/4 pants, fitting the description of one of the suspects involved in the Shooting of Supt. Simon that occurred early the morning at the Airport Gateway Service station, Piarco. He was hiding approximately 20 feet up in an immortelle tree. He was called out an ordered to come down and in doing so he fell off the tree, he was arrested and cautioned by the officers. A further search of the area was conducted however nothing illegal was found. He was then handed over to the Arouca CID where further investigation are continuing.
