Three minors were among six persons arrested after officers of the Arima Criminal Investigations Department seized a firearm and a quantity of ammunition during an anti-crime exercise, conducted in the Arima district last night.
According to reports officers were on mobile patrol along the Mausica Lands, in Arima, around 7:30 pm, on Monday 4th May 2020, when on reaching the vicinity of Alenore Gardens, they had cause to stop and search a silver Nissan AD motor vehicle with six occupants.
The search resulted in officers finding a pistol loaded with five rounds of ammunition, one black imitation pistol and two masks in the vehicle.
Six male suspects ages 16 to 20, from the Arima, La Horquetta, and Malabar districts, were arrested in connection with the finds.
Investigations are ongoing.
