Scores of people gathered at the Bethel Pentecostal Church in Point Fortin to say their final goodbye to Kymani Francis.
The toddler went missing on Monday 9th May from his Techier Village extension home at approximately 10:00 a.m. which prompted a massive search. He was discovered dead on Tuesday morning at the bank of the Guapo river.
An autopsy on his body confirmed that he died by drowning. During the forty five (45) minutes service the pastor asked for healing and forgiveness. Kymani Francis was buried at the Gonzales Cemetery. This is the second child that went missing in Point Fortin.
Almost forty (40) years ago two (2) year old Phillip Jones from Clifton Hill, a child of an expat whose father was at the time working at Dunlop Trinidad Limited was reported missing but further investigations revealed that he was kidnapped. A man has since been convicted for kidnapping and murder and was sentenced to death by hanging.
