COVID scare at the New Point Fortin Hospital

Operations at part of the New Point Fortin Hospital had to shut down and staff evacuated as a pre-cautionary measure this morning, when an employee with a contracting firm working at facility exhibited flu-like Symptoms. The employee has been sent for testing for the COVID 19 virus.

Contacted by southsidenewstt Communication Manager of the South West Regional Health Authority Kevon Gervais confirmed the incident. He said all the necessary protocols were put in place at the facility, and further went on to say that the building has been thoroughly sanitized.

Mr. Gervais also said, normal operations will resume tomorrow.
