Two Hundred Students from Primary School in the Constituency of Point Fortin received full book bags for the new school term from their Member of Parliament, Kennedy Richards Jr. on Saturday 2nd September 2023. The books distribution took place at the Point Fortin Indoor Arena.

Speaking at the distribution ceremony MP Richards says this was the third year the program is running. It started in the height of the Covid 19 Pandemic. It was meant to assist those in need with school supplies. He went on to say it first started with a distribution to one hundred students and today it has the number has risen to two hundred. Mr. Richards said he hopes to do more in the coming years and urge parents to ask their children to keep their books in good condition so that it can be passed down to up coming students next year, by doing so the Committee can do more.

He went on to explain how the students were selected for the program, their names are submitted by the school and is further evaluated by the Committee, which MP Richards says is no easy process.

In closing MP Richards thanks the Committee, Members and Corporate Sponsors for their contributions.
