The Residents of Point Fortin and Environs are calling on the Health Minister, Terrence Dayalsingh to say when the new Point Fortin Area Hospital would be fully operational. Several residents contacted southsidenewstt complaining that the Health Facility which opened in July this year does not accommodate emergency patients. These patients said, they still have to visit the Old Hospital and those who are deemed as critical Patients are sent to the San Fernando General Hospital.
We were also told that while the new facility is accommodating some Outpatient Clinics, many still have to travel to San Fernando for a clinic appointment.
Southsidenewstt contacted the Corporate, Communications Manager of the South-West Regional Health Authority, Mr Kevon Gervais who says the facility will become fully operational early in the new year.
