Two Men Arrested for Arms & Ammo in Point Fortin

Two men were arrested for possession of firearms and ammunition in separate incidents during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Point Fortin district between the hours of 6 am, and 10 am on Friday 7th August 2020.

According to report’s at 7:50 am yesterday, officers went to an apartment along TNA Road #1, Point Ligoure, Point Fortin, where a priority offender was located, and a search conducted. Officers found one silver and brown object resembling a pistol with 14 rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition under a mattress located in a room. He was arrested for the offence.

Later that day at around 8:45 am the officers proceeded to Beach Road, in Point Ligoure, Point Fortin at the home of another suspect where a search was carried out , and one black and rusty object resembling a revolver was found inside a kitchen sink. He was also arrested for the offence.

The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt (Ag) John, Supt (Ag) Ramesar, Asp Ramdeen, Insp (Ag) Simon and was supervised by Sgt (Ag) Singh and included officers of the Point Fortin CID and Point Fortin Municipal Task Force.
